How to apply a filtered view on a variable in the Smart Text editor with TimeTonic.
You can now create templates in the Smart Text editor by limiting the display to the records of a filtered view from your link column.
By activating the dynamic repetition option on your variable and the filter by a view option.
In the editor's preview,
you get a document that only presents the data from the chosen view,
hierarchically structured.
The fields are arranged one under the other.
Let's first talk about the prerequisites.
In a report table,
I have previously inserted a column of intervention links in which I have recorded several interventions.
Then,
insert a Smart Text column and prepare a document template in the editor in which you insert variables in a table or list mode.
There is a tutorial available that shows you how to insert your variables into the Smart Text editor.
And in the linked table,
you will call on a view that will be filtered which we will use as source to activate the option of the filtered view on your variables in the Smart Text.
Let's go now.
Double-click on a variable to display the options that are available.
Here,
an icon that allows you to activate the dynamic repetition of your filtered values.
And here,
the selection of a filtered view.
Activate the dynamic repetition of your variable and select the filter view option,
choose the view you only want to show and go to the preview of your document to discover the hierarchical structure of your data with only the selected view filter.
We just looked at how to prepare a document template in the Smart Text editor in table mode,
but this also works if you want to insert it in list mode.
In advance,
I inserted my variables.
In the same way,
I will activate the options,
my view,
repeat the same operation for the other variables.
I will select my variable and apply a list mode to it, the document is finished,
I will see what this document looks like.
With the preview mode,
I get a document in a list presentation with the dynamic repetition of my values only filtered by the view selected in the options.
There you have it,
you know how to prepare your document templates in the Smart Text editor of TimeTonic.
Take advantage of these options that will allow you to create documents with precision.
All you have to do is test it if you haven't already done so.
