How to apply a specific view of your linked column on a form in Timetonic.
Selecting a specific view is an essential element of the usage we can make of Timetonic, in addition to the display modes it allows us.
Let's start this presentation with two pre-configured views available for the demo. We are going to look at them.
The classic default view, with no restrictions. A view concerning an employee who will evaluate themselves. Three restrictions: read-only for the manager's column and other unnecessary information visible in the view.
The manager's view is similar, with the employee evaluation column as read-only, hence non-editable.
I go to the table where I create a new interview. A form that will be dedicated to the employee. My linked column is integrated but not yet set to the specific view created for the employee.
Several presentation options are offered. Here, the label mode is a simple mode that only displays the name of the link and is suitable for displaying many links without details. A card view that presents a more aesthetic display to show essential information, preferable for displaying a few links and few fields, and the table mode.
This view provides at a glance a maximum amount of information. It is ideal when you need to have many links and many fields.
I will find the manager column, as agreed, which is indeed read-only. I cannot make any entries in this column. And here I can assign the necessary elements for the completion of this form. I can also work by enlarging my screen, which makes data entry much more comfortable.
I save the form completed by the employee. This time, in the role of the manager, I am going to open the form that was previously filled out by the employee, who has thus evaluated themselves. I will find in this form the information entered here, which is editable. I haven't yet selected the manager view, which makes the employee evaluation column non-editable.
And my manager will be able to add the relevant data.
This is how to use the selection of specific views in your form.
Recap:
1. Configure your specific views with column restrictions.
2. Insert your linked column.
3. Open your form, click the three small dots, select the specifically configured view.
4. Change the view mode corresponding to your data representation need.
The advantage of using specific views in a form on Timetonic ensures data access security according to the assigned role rights, with the possibility of customization.
