This month, the TimeTonic mobile app, on iOS and Android, gains several improvements designed for your fieldwork.
Update your app to take advantage of these new features.
Tagging sensitive data & protecting outbound syncs
You can now flag sensitive fields containing personal data (GDPR) or confidential information. During automatic syncs to SFTP or Metabase, fields tagged “GDPR-sensitive / confidential,” as well as email, phone, attachment, SmartText, comment, and modification history fields, are now excluded by default — only the data that’s truly necessary leaves TimeTonic.
Authentication required by default
Attachment and external form fields now have “Authentication required” checked by default when created. Only valid TimeTonic users with authorized access can view these fields; you can uncheck it whenever you need to share with external stakeholders.
Strengthened security for Metabase dashboards
The Metabase reporting solution is accessible again following enhanced security measures: a web application firewall (WAF), IP allowlisting for administrator accounts, and public URL sharing now blocked. Contact your TimeTonic account manager to learn more.

This summer, we experienced a security incident affecting Metabase reporting instances, which impacted some of our users. We immediately activated our response protocol, notified the individuals and authorities concerned per our GDPR obligations, and strengthened security measures on Metabase instances.
This incident did not involve the core TimeTonic platform, which was never compromised. We added several additional application safeguards (see “Product Updates” above) to help you limit risks related to user behavior.
